Information You Submit
Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address you enter to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Layton People Search does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. When you send a message through the contact channel, we receive the details you choose to provide and use them only to answer you.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems record standard technical logs, including an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those functions apply.
How Information Is Used
The limited information described above is used to operate the service, diagnose errors, measure traffic, and improve content. We do not create profiles of individual visitors or sell a visitor list.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to Layton City resources, Davis County and Utah records offices, court portals, library collections, or third-party search tools. Information submitted after following a link is governed by the destination's own privacy terms. The same distinction applies to sponsored search results, which come from an outside provider rather than Layton People Search.
When Information Is Shared
Hosting and support vendors may process technical logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information already described. Visitor data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it, but it is not otherwise shared.
Safeguarding Your Information
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are kept only for as long as they serve the operational purposes stated above. Because visitors do not create accounts, Layton People Search holds no user password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted such information, and we will remove it.
Your Utah Privacy Rights
The Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, gives eligible Utah consumers rights concerning covered businesses. Subject to the law's scope and exceptions, those rights include confirming whether personal data is processed, accessing it, deleting data the consumer provided, obtaining a portable copy, and opting out of targeted advertising or a sale. Requests involving the limited information held here can be made through the Contact page; we can check the contact mailbox and available server logs.
Public records kept by Layton City, the Davis County Recorder, Davis County Clerk, Utah Courts, or another government custodian remain outside our possession and control. A request made here cannot erase or amend an accurate deed, case entry, tax record, or other official file. Questions about access, correction, redaction, or lawful withholding must go to the office that maintains the source record under GRAMA or the other law governing that record.
